My air conditioner is having a problem today, so I'm leaving doors and windows open right now so my house cools down...
This is my cat, whom knows he is not supposed to go outside. He waited until I told him he shouldn't get closer to the mysterious outdoors, and then laid down... To apparently watch chirping sparrows. View attachment 3501047

What an amazing feline! My GirlChild* has a cat that comes downstairs and steals my cat's food. Wish I could get that cat to stay upstairs where she belongs! Both cats have the run of the house, but MY cat eats down here in DH's and my bedroom and HER cat eats in her bedroom, upstairs. At least that is the plan...

*GirlChild is my adult granddaughter, who is a student and still living with us. She is the light of my life and has me wrapped around her little finger, lol.

I have a "light of my life" too. I wish she lived with me...I'm sure my husband is glad she doesn't. She is a little high maintenance. Lol.

I had another hatched. I took it out and put it in with a mama hen and her 3 chicks last night. Junapurr was very interested. I didn't even think to get a photo after it hatched! The other 3 chicks are doing well. The difference in size between the bantams and the standard is amazing.

Could you get her a few pullets from tractor supply, and then rehome them when they are older? I've done that a few times.

I am tempted! If I do, I need to wait until another hen recovers. I have another hen who is recovering after getting attacked by the rooster but as soon as she does she's joining the others.
My broody hen "Sonic-Ian" is sooooo stubborn. If I even forget to collect ONE day, she takes it upon herself. I just worry about the other hens picking on her & her chicks. But so tempting.
