It breaks my heart but I need to rehome my rooster Henry, about 18 weeks old, rhode island red. He is pretty docile, used to dogs and people, gentle mating with the girls, and vigilant. All my chickens prefer to sleep outside on there roost, so he is very adaptable.

I really want to keep him, but my neighbor keeps complaining. I don't understand why roosters get such a bad rap simply because they crow. I personally like it, I crow back to him just to see him look at me funny.

Any help finding him a good home will be appreciated. I'm not opposed to him feeding someone in need, but I couldn't kill him myself. or abandon him.

Sincerely,

Dusty

:welcome
I'm sorry you have to rehome your boy. Where in the world are you located? You can try posting him in your State Thread. Have you posted him FB and Craigslist as well? I've had luck rehoming roos that way. I hope you can find him a home.

Oops, I forgot to post my location. Newberg, Oregon, Yamhill County. I am new to BYC, still getting a lay of the land.

Thanks again

I'm not on Facebook, I have looked on Craigslist but it only a couple sketchy options so far. Thanks for the support.
