I've read quite a few posts about bad legs but I strongly believe this may be a problem with her hip. She is a 9 month old Silver Laced Wyandotte named Lucy. She's always laid smaller eggs than the rest of the flock but had the same energy and even more personality. About a week and a half ago she began huddling in the lawn and stopped laying. I noticed her sister doing the same and just assumed they were either begin to brood or were simply enjoying the sunshine. Then I discovered an egg balanced with precision on the crossbeam of the roosts and I thought how bizarre. It was cracked and I wasn't sure how long it had been there so I threw it away. For the past three days Lucy has been limping, basically stretching her left leg out in front of her and very gingerly stepping down on it lightly, very quickly changing to the right leg. She only moves a few feet at a time across the yard and is not eating or drinking, nor have I seen any stool from her. I've picked her up a few times and felt the leg for bumps or heat, no tears, scabs, cuts nothing. But when I pressed her body against mine so I could stretch out that left wing she let out a yell that was startling. I petted the wing and felt it but she didn't cry out anymore, so I don't really think it was the wing. I think it might be that hip. I'm sad to say my budget won't allow me to take her to the vet so if anyone has a clue what's going on or a homemade remedy I sure would appreciate it. Also, there is no way in this life I would eat her but I don't know what to do with her if she doesn't recover. The others even her own sister have begun pecking her. Please help me.

She could have hurt her hip somehow. Take a good look at her whole side and hip area and even if you don't see anything, she might just be bruised badly from something. If the others are pecking her I'd strongly suggest separating her for a bit with food/water in easy reach and see how it goes.

Have you checked her vent for lice and mites? That can bring down a bird quickly and can be confusing as to the symptoms. Please check
