Help me I.D. please!

Did you determine which is which? Now that they are a bit older, any breed you were questioning should be more clear.

I figured out that Ethel-- who is actually a cockerel is the Gold Laced Wyandotte. I am still unure as to what Penny and Maxine are though-- here are new photos-- I can post better ones later today (if that would help). Thanks for any help you may be able to offer

Penny is your plymouth partridge rock. She will be beautiful. And don't discount Ethel too early as Wyandottes seem to advance in their comb sooner than the single comb varieties.

Thanks! I am thinking that Maxine must be the other EE then!

I am feeling pretty confident that "Ethel" is a cockerel-- his behavior has changed, he is getting his waddle and his comb is turning pink, despite having about half the amount of feathers as the rest of the group! I am going to see if we can keep him, because I am most certainly attached!

Here is a photo of him and then a zoomed photo of his comb. Obviously it is not a 100%, but I am thinking she is a HE

If just by feathering, I would suspect a cockerel, but Wyandottes seem to be more tricky. Lacing sometimes results in slower feathering. Wyandottes tend to get the wattles earlier and their combs and wattles pink up earlier. Besides someone has to be the alpha and act dominant, pullet or otherwise. Were these chicks supposed to be sexed as pullets or just a straight run?

Guess I will have to wait to know for sure! When do you think I would be able to know for certain?

I was busy tonight painting their new home! Can't wait to have it finished so I can post pics!

I have four ~7wk olds (SLW, australorp, brown leghorn and plymouth white rock). The other SLW, I gave away as I can't have roosters and I am convinced that was what "he" is (the one on the far left). And I have two 2wk old Easter Eggers. So total of 6. I let chicken math do the counting this spring after I lost my two remaining chickens in November to a pair of red tailed hawks. I have to say, however, that your chicks' "glamour shots" are too cute. Good luck with your babies.
