EE vs Ameracauna, probably an EE, but how do you tell the difference?



We think this one looks like a buzzard=) Lol, well, kind of looking like a roo, but not sure what else...



Australorp maybe??

the top picture looks like my ameraucana, the second looks like my orpington. im not sure of the last one

I don't know, but just wanted to say #3 sure is cute!

1- If it has cheeks, It is an EE or ameroucana, If it doesnt have cheeks it could be a brown leghorn... 2- Looks like a barred rock, 3- might be an australorp.. not sure....

#1 has those tufty cheek feathers, just wondering how to tell the difference between a cross and a pure ameracauna.. #2 A barred rock, yeah, that's probably it, the one behind it is a little BO and the one in front of it is a bantam, #3 still thinking it's an australorp...

I think #1 is an EE. #2 looks like an Astralorp or maybe black sex link? Last one looks like a SLW to me. But I am new to the whole breed guessing games. #2 looks nothing like my BRs though.

I have feed store "Ameraucanas" which are actually Easter Eggers and I have heritage breed Ameracaunas. Your #1 looks like my EE chicks.

Thanks MamaRudey for the info.. So maybe # 2 is an Australorp?? interesting... It's starting to get the barred look on its feathers... An SLW on #3? I read another thing where someone was trying to figure out if their chick was an australorp or a jersey giant, my #3 looks a lot like those pics, the difference had to do with the color on the bottoms of their feet, interesting... But, good to know that my #1 looks like your EE's... I figured that's what it is, just curious how to really tell the difference...

This is one of my Australorp, he is about 3 weeks or so. The second picture might be a jersey giant? Its got yellow legs....i dont think Australorps have yellow legs?

Thanks for the pic of your Australorp, mine looks kind of like that, but it has black and yellow legs... How do you find out what the specific characteristic of each breed are?
