Help me identify please...

thank you..its only 10 weeks...should I keep it for a bit longer to know for sure? when would it start crowing? Isn't there something about the comb I should look for as well? thank you again,
It could start crowing at any time. Does seller have a rooster return policy? If so, I'd hold onto a little longer just to be sure. If not, and you need to find a home, I'd start advertising now...find a brabanter group or local chicken group on FB and list your location. If you're not worried about him becoming dinner, you can always post on CL. Some farms will take roos for a fee. We always try to rehome our roos first but those we can't, we dispatch and eat so that we know there was no fear and it's as humane as possible ❤

thank you...
since we are in the same state, may I ask what resources you used to give your roo away?

I gave them to friends of my hubs. Unfortunately ultimately they all became dinner.....if not human dinner they were predator dinner. 🙁

Where did you buy the little one?
IF from Northern Colorado Feeders Supply they do have a rooster return option.....if you saved your receipt.

Hi. At Wardle Feed in Wheatridge...I usually don't go there and won't again. I called...no rooster return, but they gave me a "number of a guy...".

This is something I do not understand.

If they sold you this chicken as a "Barnevelder sexed hen", they have to take it back and return your money + feeding costs. Otherwise I would call this deceptive business acts.

A) It is not a Barnevelder
B) It is not sexed because
C) It is a cockerel

What I would do at this point is wait a couple more weeks to be 100% sure he isn't just a manly maiden then post fliers at the feed stores bulletin boards and on Craigslist. Yeah Craigslist is a crapshoot but there really aren't many options.

Talk to the folks at the feed store in the feed area and see if maybe they know of anyone looking for a roo as well. While rare it happens.
