Hi yalls, I currently have two drakes of different breeds. One mallard and one black Runner.

I've been incubating and hatching my Mallard pattern Runner ducks eggs and I honestly can't tell who the daddy is, can yalls maybe take a guess? Looks like 3 will have the crested face and 2 yellow. Their mother also has the same stripes.

It could be either. The mallard pattern (striped face) is a dominant trait so the wild type ducklings only need to get it from one parent. Since mom has it, it makes sense it came from her. The yellow ducklings appear to be white (unless you see dark tips to the down, then snowy). White (and snowy) are recessive traits. So, those ducklings have to have gotten it from both parents. So, your female and one of the drakes is a carrier of white. Unfortunately, recessive traits hide so there is no way to know which one. Where did you get the parents? I’m guessing not from a hatchery.
If I had to pick one I would guess the mallard drake.

Hi, my runners I got from a petshop we don't have alot of places that hatching the kind of ducks I am looking for including runners, apparently I need a permit for my mallard drake which I also bought as a adult at a different petshop. The one yellow baby is fully yellow just looks like it has a lighter soft yellow lines across the face and the other two hatched yesterday and I believe it's safe to say my mallard called seun(boy) is indeed the daddy as there is orange spots in the feeties. The other baby is also yellow. They are currently still in the incubator. I'll likely keep them there for another 5-6h. I do however know that my Runner drake does have one little white feather on his chest and barely visible.

They are adorable regardless. Are you sure that your Mallard is really a pure Mallard? I ask because if he is the daddy he is carrying white. There are other types of ducks with Mallard coloration. This is one of my Dutch Hookbill drakes.

Quick little update on the ducklings I have, they are growing quickly and already getting feathers including the black runner x Pekin mix is absolutely gorgeous😍. The yellow runners is turning white and can't wait to see what they might look like since neither of my pekins are white but my drake does have one white feather on his chest. The last born passed away on day 3 likely due to the premature hatching since the one born on the same day is survived and is growing beautifully
