Hello all! My daughter and I recently picked up 14 3-4 day old chicks. They have grown like weeds and are now roughly 6.5 weeks old. We have refrained from naming most of them as we don't want to grow attached to a rooster as we can't (and don't want to) keep them.

I've attached the best pictures that I've been able to get... my gosh it's not easy!! I'm hoping that you guys and gals out there might be able to help with sexing them. There are 10 "barnyard mixes", 1 White Chantacler, 1 Americauna, and 2 Icelandics (although one of the barnyard mixes sure looks like an icelandic to me)

Anywho... without further jibber jabber...

Icelandic #1

Americauna (couldn't resist naming this one Lambchop.... really hoping she's a she)

Unfortunately, likely a Rooster...

White Chantecler (sure hope this one is a hen... because Henrietta is a terrible name for a rooster!)

Barnyard #1, #2, #9 and #3 are definitely male.
Barnyard #5, #7, #10 and #8 look like boys too.
Really!? #7? I was sure that's a hen. Darn newbs. hahaha

So.... do you figure the rest are girls, or you've just ID'd the ones that you are confident are boys? Any thoughts on the Icelandics? Americauna? White Chantecler?

Barnyard # 1, 2, 3, 5, 9 and 10 are cockerels. @s 7 and 8 I would lean towards male.

Icelandics look like pullets. Chantecler looks pullet so far, as does the blue EE/"Americana".

You sure did order alot of Cockerals. lol. Those are very pretty birds, I think id try to find someone who needs a roo for breeding. You could eat them but thats a very pretty meal. Atleast save the feathers for crafts or something.

Certainly didn't order that many. Was hoping for mostly hens so we could pick our faves. Oh well.
