So I have 10 chicks and in those 10 I have two golden comets. Should I trade them for two silver lace wyandottes or keep them? I think the wyandottes are a lot prettier but do they lay just as good???

Are the wyandottes sexed or straight run? The advantage of the comets are they are a sex linked birds, so there is no guessing/hoping you get a layer. Even with sexed chicks, there is always the chance of a mistake and you could end up with a roo (unless the birds you would be trading for are older and gender is obvious) - trading a guaranteed layer for a possible roo, especially when you are taking laying into consideration in the trade, wouldn't be my first choice.

Ya, I was going to give the two comets to a buddy and buy two wyandotte pullets. I might just give him one and buy one wyandotte

IME, sex links are the better layer - since production is one of your points of consideration.

Of course, best solution - keep the sex links AND get the SLW

I'm met with a hard decision because I want a good egg production but I also want some silver lace wyandottes because they're so pretty. Do they still lay good eggs?

They are not bad layers. How many eggs per week do you want/need? What breed(s) are your other chickens?
I completely agree on the appearance of the SLW - I have three each of SLW and GLW because I like their look.

I have 4 grown silkies but those obviously are for more of pets lol and for the chicks I have 4 red sex links 2 golden comets a Cochin and 2 bantams which one is a EE and the other is what I believe to be a Quail Belgian Bearded d'Anvers. So I have 6 layers and hopefully my Cochin is a hen too. And I'm not sure just what ever they produce.
