Hey so I currently brought all my doves from California to washigton state and since there’s a huge weather difference and there about 25 doves they stay outisde but we make sure to top there cages with several layers of thick blankets. I currently checked the weather and it’s say around 4am it’s going to snow 40%.Do you guys think my doves will handle the cold? Or should I be worried.

What is the coldest temp your birds have experienced? How low is the temp supposed to go for this coming snow storm? That will tell us whether they can handle the storm.

If it's supposed to get to just 32F, you have nothing to worry about. If the temp slides down into the teens and 20s, then you might want to add a little supplemental heat such as a few milk jugs full of hot water at the coldest point of the night.

Thanks I will do that it’s currently 38° right now the lowest they gotten was maybe around the 50° since there from California.

Not sure what temps doves can take, but I'm sure they need some ventilation,
so wrapping the whole cage in blankets may not be a good idea.

there able to breath we leave a bit of the back uncovered, but I’ll be more aware and give them more ventilation. Also instead of water jugs can I use rice in a socks rn warm it up?i used to do that for my chicks and noticed it smelt burned and toxic not sure if it’s safe tho.
