The Mikasa is too stoneware looking, I think.

My favorites were the yellow rose and the cornflower blue. I liked the delicate look of the cornflower blue. The other two Wedgewood looked like the same plate and cup design with different decals.

I've been looking in the thrift shops, and the prices are the same as there on ebay -- anywhere from $10-$15 total. And they haven't had any in the styles she likes.

I really like the Cornflower Blue as well. It's gorgeous. My only dislike is that it does have the gold trim, and I was thinking more in line of something that she could use on a regular basis, not too fancy. We'll see. I'm going to see what my sister thinks, and then I'll order. I wish I could get them all!

What is her style? I am tempted to see what we have here and see how many sets fit in an flat rate usps box.

She likes the delicate type, but sturdy at the same time. Prefers flowers, not very big and not all over and overwhelmingly busy (like chintz). And not very dark colors. I have seen some teacups that are black and they just look... well, odd.

She has one set that is a cream/ivory and has a wide, minty green band around the lip, with very tiny gold vines and leaves. Then she has her special occasion dinnerware that's white with roses of different shades of pink with light green leaves, and gold trim.

I got my sister's opinion, and we decided we would each get her one. So we are getting the Cornflower Blue and the Wedgewood Jacqueline. The Wedgewood could be used more often and it's cheerful and different, and the Cornflower is just so gorgeous I can't pass it up.

I like the wedgewoods the best and picked jacqueline for the give. I think they are simple and elegant without being over the top.
