Help me understand this

So when I incubated eggs for the first time a friend told me not to take them out everyday as it will stunt their growth and apparently it was true, but I don't understand how taking a chicken egg out of the incubator for 45 seconds every other day stunts their growth while mother hens get off the nest for 1 to 30 mins a day and the eggs are fine can someone explain that to me?

It doesn't. Otherwise literally every chick would be stunted because mama gets off the nest to eat, drink and poop and that's a lot longer than 45 seconds

I candle eggs every day sometimes, none of the chicks gotten stunted.

It doesn't stunt their growth. You run the risk of issues such as dropping eggs and what not, but candle away if you must

Hens get off their eggs a few times a day, they eggs will be fine. Did you not turn the eggs at all during the last incubation? That will stunt growth and cause issues.
