Help me with the colors of my cortunex quail

Here are some pictures of my corti quail. Please let me know the correct color name for them if any. I am new to these guys.

Joe Joe came in with them. Some of them are out of the ones that originally came from you. And others from Cookeville. He sold what he had to a neighbor. Then we ended up with some babies out of a trade. I mentioned getting some from you next thing I now we have some. ??

So tell me the colors.

fi you dont want to keep them all let me know of the ones i named which ones you like and I'll tell you how to keep that color around.


Heres a basic run down

To get A & M strictly you need to keep around both sex and let them mate together. You can get A & M by recessive default but for the most part you need it to produce it

To produce more rosetta tuxedo, you can put some rosettas in with your A & Ms and it will produce some really pretty rosetta tuxedos

Your red, i'd throw that in with your rosetta tuxedos and A & Ms

Same with the golden range.

Now the goldens, if you breed those to your rosettas, and your golden range you'll get range birds as range is dominant over golden

If you like golden, cross it to your A & ms and you'll get mostly goldens.

Basically, if you lke all the colors but dont want to keep every single bird if it was me, I'd keep an A & M roo, 1 or 2 goldens, the red tuxedo, a rosetta or two, and an A & M hen. That way you will get every color you have but wont have to keep a ton of the same color to get them.

As for how many different oclors are there? In coturnix in general? SEVERAL

Just one more question. How is it you tell the difference. I already having a couple that like ball up like a cat when I am feeding. Is that the male?
