No, they just do that when they are scared. If they are brown, golden, or cinnamon, the males should have a solid colored breast and the famales will be spotted. All other colors need to be vent sexed. If you do a search, Niki (monarc) has a posting with a video on how to vent sex. Just make sure the search looks for posts rather than topics, so you don't have to hunt through a million different threads!
