Help - membrane too dry?

Hi, my ducklings are currently hatching but I’m unsure if the membrance is too dry / hard. The chick appears to be working very hard and with nothing happening.

I'm no expert, but it does look a little dry. Try moistening it with coconut oil.

I would use coconut oil instead of water.

You could either moisten it with a wet paper towel if you don't have any coconut oil, but if you do I would use it

Use oil...veg oil will work, or antibiotic ointment...
.... water will just dry right back out.

They’re finally out (took over 2 days) and looking good! It hatched from the smaller end of the egg and was very tangled. I will upload a photo
