I have a lovely mixed flock of about 45 birds. I just returned from being gone for 3 weeks, and my egg production has come to a near stop.
Prior to leaving I had 8 mature hens and was averaging 5 a day. I had 5 more pullets that are now 25 weeks old. So in my calculations around 13 chickens who should be laying.
I am lucky if I get 1 egg a day now. Have been home almost a week and only have 4 eggs for these past 6 days.
What to do to get my girls laying again?

(Breeds that were laying BR, BO, Bantam SLW)

What are you feeding them? You might want to try a layer feed. Are you home all day to collect the eggs? If not something might be eating them.

You should try to find out the source and try to fix it. Or some of the hens could be eating their own eggs (some chickens do that). or some egg eating predator could be stealing the eggs.

My hens get a great organic layer feed with oyster shells mixed in. I am home 80% of the day and check the nesting boxes here and there.
They free range, but have always free ranged with no problem laying.
Just extreme change in behavior, and I do not know how to rectify.
