the keets are 7 days old and they have mites. can anyone help me???? any meds or home remidies i should try??

Clean everything. Remove all bedding, wipe down the brooder with diluted bleach or a mite/lice spray, sterilize feeders and waterers the same way, etc... Do that every 7 days or sooner if you can but the new generation of mites/lice will hatch within 7-10days. For what to put on the keets it would help to know how old they are. I just used poultry protector spray and an essential oil based dog mosquito spray on my chickens and coop with 6week old chicks to kill mites because I couldn't find anything better. I finally got a hold of sevin dust which works better but is more toxic and less safe.

Do as instructed as above but dust your critters, their house (up about 2 ft) with sevin dust. It will kill them but you must repeat in 7 days. Don't freak......they will die , i just went through this.

Most places that sell gardening supplies have sevin dust. It's used to kill garden pests.

All poutry love to dust themselves in the dirt. Take a rake and loosen up some of the soil in their pen, they will watch you and when you're done they will go over and bath themselves. Take some Sevin dust and mix it in with the dirt, they will bath and dust with the powder at the same time. Guinea are really not fond of being handled so this is much less stressful. The following week I'll pick another spot and start all over again.
