Help! Month old duckling broken blood feather.

Hello everyone, i'm kind of new to this site and just wondering about my 3 week old duckling. Went out to check on the ducks and realized that one had got her blood feather stuck in the fencing which caused it to break. We saw some blood on the fencing as well as on the ground, but on her the blood had clotted on the feather and the bleeding stopped. We decided to keep the drakes outside for the night and block off the inside of the coop for her to be alone, but they got in (by my own mistake) and i'm guessing messed with her a little bit. Anyways, a little more blood happened, now it's clotted again and now she's in a container by herself for now. I'm very scared and don't know what to do. I've read about plucking the feather myself, but still am unsure if I want to do that. Has anyone done it to a domestic duck? I don't really have any vets around that will see ducks, and I am afraid that I am running out of time. Thanks!

Is that on her wing, hard to see. If the blood has completely clotted just apply neosporin once a day in that area. Keep her isolated away from the other flock and let her heal.

It seems to be more underneath of her wing. It's super hard to tell with ducks at this age. They grow all sorts of weird things at weird times. I just don't want her to bleed out like every website says. She's isolated as of right now and kept away from the pool to preserve the clot.

It sounds like she'll be ok, you do have to inspect the injury location to make sure it's just on the wing.

will do. thank you. one last thing, will i disturb the clot if i apply neosporin to the broken blood feather?

You'll disturb it a little but she won't be bleeding from applying it. Make sure you check her wound everyday by inspecting the condition of it before reapplying neosporin on it each day.

If you have some supplements to add to her water that will help to heal it faster and keep her healthy while isolated.
