Help, moving chicks outside

I also had the idea to put the brooder/playpen in the coop with the heat lamp. The big girls would get their space and we wouldn't be splitting up the flock. I just worry about the little ones staying warm enough in the bigger space.

Yo, auto door?! Do you have a link? That sounds awesome!

I ordered the chicken house auto door from Titan Incubators on eBay. Link: http://m.ebay.com/itm/111181762030?nav=VI
It seems simple to install and program. There is a demo video on the listing. There are some other options for auto doors but they are still over 90$. And I am no engineer and can't figure out how to make one out of a car antennae or electric screw driver, those are the cheapest ones to make.

My chicks are approximately 3 weeks old and have most of their feathers. I have had them in my house since we got them in a sealed off room. In the last few days the smell and the dust has gotten unbearable! I want to move them into the barn so badly today, but it is just below freezing outside. I have 2 brooder lights. Will they be okay if I move them out? The temperature is supposed to finally warm up tomorrow, but I don't want to wait. Of course, I will if I absolutely have to...
if they got the lamps and no drafts they'll be fine

My 4 SLW chicks are 6,5 weeks tomorrow, still living inside, but their coop is ready now.
Could I put them in the inside coop when the temp is in the middle 50's at night?
I don't have a heater lamp.
Or should I bring them back inside in the evening?

Ok first, I'm jealous of everyone talking about 50's for temps at night. Up here in Vt I'm still in the 30's for highs at night. My girls are 3 weeks old have most of their feathers, except their heads. Their coop hasn't come in yet, (not my idea, it's a present from my parents). The coop they got is a 4x4, and supposedly rated for 8-10 chickens. And well, I got 12 girls. Should I be nervous about this? And be planning an addition to there Amish home soon? The good part is that is 80" high so they have good head room.
