Help! Mucus like substance cane out of hens mouth.

so today I was going down to feed my yellow buffs some meal worms and when I noticed mrs priss ( my oldest hen) she opened her mouth to eat and a liquid like substance cane out of her mouth. It was clear when it came out but do I need to treats her for anything?

Occasionally this happens with chickens. It happened just yesterday with one of my hens, and typically, all the chickens around her go after it like it was some tasty treat. Yes, yuk!

I do not know exactly why this happens, but I've not seen it lead to any problems. But, since I am not there, and you are, I recommend you do a crop check tonight with your hen that regurgitated. Check for fullness and whether her crop is hard, lumpy, full and squishy, or normal. Then check again in the morning before she eats or drinks. Her crop should be empty and flat. If it's still full, especially full and spongy, she may have sour crop which does overflow out the beak if the hen is handled or jostled.
