Muscovy-palooza
Songster
Mom muscovy has been sitting for entirely too long. Her eggs keep rolling out from under her and getting cold. I did slip a couple of other abandoned eggs under her thinking possibly she could hatch them. I relocated the nest but many of the eggs were dark so I thought that it was time to release that hen from the burden of likely bad eggs. My son looked in the box that had the eggs in it since this morning (were sitting in sun) and said that one was moving. The little thing hatched right there in front of us. Now what? I dont know where mom is. What should I do? I put the little one in a box under a heat lamp. I have one 3-4 week old muscovy that we found roaming with no mom. I have 10 total that I have been brooding. Should I move older one in with new duckling? Or leave it and other potential hatching eggs under the heat lamp? I dont have an incubator. Thanks for any guidance.
I currently have the duckling and the other eggs under a heat lamp with a heating pad underneath.
