Help my baby chick hurt beak

I'm so sorry for your loss. A necropsy would be a good idea if answers would give you closure.

It sounds like it could be reproductive related. I had a similar situation, we had a legbar chick who was thriving and healthy right up until laying age. The week we got our first egg (from one of her hatch mates, not from her) she suddenly became lethargic and developed a swollen belly. After about a week, and some calcium supplements, she wasn't getting better and I was all set to cull her. But the morning I was going to do it she was miraculously all better. About 2 months later her symptoms returned and she went downhill fast. After she passed i did an at home necropsy that confirmed it was a reproductive issue (right ovaduct (usually birds only have one, the left one) cyst) that we couldn't have prevented. I've culled pet chickens before and I still bawled over her passing (we technically culled her, but she was already in the process of dying and wouldn't have lasted another 5 minutes even had we done nothing).

She stopped eating drinking yesterday. I tried to syringe water. She passed. I know this is a part of animal care but it was so hard. I did everything i could think of to help her. I was holding her when she passed.
I'm sorry to hear she didn't make it.

Since your vet saw her, perhaps he can do some testing or send the body for analysis to find out what was going on with her.
