I’m new to the raising chick community and the other day I picked up one of the chicks and it jumped out of my hand. I felt so bad I quickly picked it up again to see if it was okay than put it back in the brooder. I was keeping a eye on it than i noticed it couldn’t use it’s left leg and it was limping. Just hopping around. It’s eating and drinking just fine. I don’t think anything broken but at the same time I don’t think I’m experienced enough to tell. Any advice and help?

They could have just tweaked a muscle or something. Keep an eye on them and see if it improves. Maybe feed them some scrambled eggs and put electrolytes in their water to help them heal.

It may have bruised its foot. Look at the tiny foot bad for signs of discoloration and swelling. Since you're new to chickens, you will need to start a chicken first aid kit. Vetericyn wound spray, found in the horse supplies, and Poultry Nutri-drench, found where the chicken stuff is shelved in your feed store should be you first two purchases.

The Nutri-drench can be given straight or mixed into water for a sick chick. Use the Vetericyn on the chick's foot pad if you see swelling and bruising.

I don’t see any bruising but I believe it’s starting to put some pressure on it. When I went to check up on the chicks for the night. I had saw him all wet he must of fell into to water and I don’t really know what to do. I’m just trying to keep him warm for now.

A wet chick needs to be rapidly warmed. A hair dryer works well. Or heat a towel in the dryer and wrap the chick in it.

Putting rocks or marbles in the water dish can prevent this from happening again.
Thank you for all your help!! I gladly appreciate it! But I still don’t know what’s going on with it’s leg. I don’t see any bruising, I don’t think anything broken. It’s been almost a week and it hasn’t really got any better. Also I’m trying to warm him up and he’s flinching is this normal?

The chick may be going into shock. Get some warm sugar water with a pinch of salt and baking soda into the chick immediately to counter shock. Wrap the chick in a warmed towel or blow dry it on it's under parts where there are lots of blood vessels.
