I have a black bantam, and I have no idea what breed he is. And he's the only bantam, so the big Leghorns would pick him up by his toes and toss him around!! Now his leg is broke. He hops around on one foot. He is eating and drinking, but I am still scared for him. What should I do? I just want him to be comfortable.

Separate him from the bigger chickens. If his leg is really broken rather than strained or sprained, it should be splinted.

I separated him as soon as I noticed that the Leghorns were pecking at him, which was a few days ago. How am I supposed to tell if it is sprained or broken? I can't tell. I just assumed it was broken, but I do not know for sure.
