I am so clueless. Just went out there to check on the chicks and noticed one had a sore on his booty...all the fuzz and feather are gone, it looks kind of like its protruding and its really fleshy...i took it out and put it in a box alone becasuse all the other chicks were pecking her on the sore. what do i do? thanks in advance!

ive had her about 3 weeks. so im not sure how old she is. if i get that blue coat stuff i can put her back in there with the others? she is going crazy in here alone. it looks like it's above her rectum (do chickens call it rectum?), because when she pooped it came from below it,i think!

Update: make sure that the antibilotic ointment does not contain painkiller.
Keep her in a dark place and she will settle down.
You should be able to put her back with others after you have the blue-kote on her.

I have had a couple chickens with this. I actually just found a chicken with it this afternoon. It looks like pro-laps vent. This is where the egg comes through, it goes through the vent and out. But it has come out.. Before what we did was try to get it back up in there by putting on rubber gloves and yes putting it back up there. I know it is gross but you have to do what you have to do right? After we got it to stay up there, we put her in the dark basement for 3 days with a little water but no food. Chickens lay according to the light, so you want to leave her in a dark place, to try to keep her from laying. Hopefully it will heal back where it is supposed to be. We did this with one of our chickens Gracie but it didn't work... We had to end her life sadly to take her out of her misery.
I hope this helps...
