I had him in a box and he kept getting out and I was worried he would get hurt so the cage is a temporary fix for now until I find something more suitable. He has been steadily running back and forth and chirping very loudly. I'm worried he's going to give himself a heart attack.

If It Was Hatched Then Mabye He Want's His Mother, When I Pick Up A Baby Chicks That Was Hatched They React Like That Cause They Want their Mother. If It Was Hatched I Suggest You Put It Back With Her.

They hate being alone. Make sure it has food and water and is warm enough but not too hot. They need to be at 90 degrees right after they hatch and for the first week. . If you have a tiny stuffed animal put it in there so that he can get under it and snuggle. That may help him settle down. He needs a friend.

Hi, is he eating & warm enough? You need to monitor food intake. However it seems to me as others said, he looks lonely and scared, cold? As other answer said, something warm & fluffy, also a radio close by may help?

Did the other egg hatch? He will calm down when his buddy hatches. If the buddy doesn't hatch you might want to go buy a chick for him.

A small mirror he can't break along with a small stufed animal. I have also heard of people hanging a feather duster so they can get under it like mom. He doesn't like being alone.
