Hey y'all! I am new to the forum and also to raising BYC. We have a 2 week old Silver Laced Wyandotte named Jellybean and I was holding her close to my face talking to her and she all of the sudden jumped up and grabbed my nose ring and swallowed it.

What should I do? I don't want it To get lodged in her crop or intestine and cause issues or far worse. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best to get to an avian vet and have it removed asap.

In my previous life as a worker in a small family owned processing plant I have found costume jewelry in the gizzards of more than one chicken. My prediction is that this emergency will also PASS. I would do nothing unless I wanted my nose ring back in one piece. The chicken's gizzard will eventually grind the ring to dust.

Are baby chicks took my daughters nose ring out like 3 times. I am so glad they didn't swallow it. Unless it was worth alote of money I would just leave it alone.
