I hope that someone can help me. My chicken is a 5 year old Magpie. For just over a week now she has had a sticky bum with greeny coloured poo stuck to it. To start with she seemed fine and I ignored it, then I noticed that she was having difficulty eating. Today she can no longer eat. She is weak because she can't eat so she is sitting around sleeping a lot but when I called her she came running over and tried to eat. Her syptoms are:
Diarrhea
Stinky breath
If she tries to eat she opens her beak wide and shakes her head as if she has something in her throat. This sprays thick, stinky saliva everywhere.
I had a look down her throat to makesure nothing was stuck and she looks like she has white mould growing on the sides of her throat.
She had a accident when she was young so is blind in one eye and that one is always shut. The other, although a little sunken now because she is getting weak, looks normal.
No discharge from her nose or good eye.
Her comb is still red.
She is really hungry but can pick up or swallow anything.
I don't know what to do to help her. She is my favorite chicken, really friendly and I want to do everything I can to help her. Does anyone have any ideas?
