HELP!!! MY CHICKEN IS HURTING!!!

My chicken has poop and dried up dirt built up around her legs and it is cutting into the right leg. I've tried to get it off by putting lukewarm water on it and getting it off but she wont let me. What do I do to safely get it off without hurting her?

It sounds more likely that she has scaley leg mites. Do a forum search for treatment regimens. Do not peel the gunk off - it will cause bleeding.

it sounds more like mites try cleaning their legs with vaseline
