Help my chicken Rose!

Last but not least, internal laying, not treatable long term. The hen pictured her would have needed surgery to remove all of the internally laid eggs and spaying. A friend of mine was quoted $1500 to spay her hen, so not a wise thing to do IMO.

What my sister meant to say we had to put her down because she had a large egg inside her.

yeah its been a rough year. this is the first year that we had to put chickens down.

grayella and lily are the other ones we had to put down due to bumble foot. and we just lost penny [our 1 month old partridge rock] to a raven or hawk [we dident see it] well no need to dwell on deaths. besides our hen sweetie just went broody!

Why would you put down your hens due to bumbble foot it quite easy to treat this condition?

If caught in time it can be easy to treat, but it can cause permanent joint damage if not caught and treated in time. Worse case, can cause death.
