this may sound really gross but he found something dead and i think he ate around a hundred of maggots.
well i wasn't really concerned except for when he went to the bathroom there were TONS of them, and his digestive system did no harm to them. they looked like they just died outside of his body. thankfully they were all dead, but this brought a question to mind,
if they were fully intact and went through however many stomachs he had, could they do any damage to him on the inside?
does he need to go to the vet or anything?

If he ate them- they should do no more harm than any other insect larvae- though he could be exposed to bad bacteria from the spoiled meat itself. Most of the time people see maggots in and around poop- they didn't come out with the poop- but just got added later by flies laying eggs in the poop. Did you actually see the maggot laden poop come out of the duck?

yes. i did, i can take pictures of it too.
my duck wears diapers so i get to see anything that comes out of his butt.
and i saw the maggots that he ate too, theyre all under some bricks on my porch after something dead, not sure what it is, im afraid to look.

ugh- duck diaper with maggots- don't need a photo! Should be fine- a danger to ducks is dead things in the water, and drinking of bacteria laden water, not so much the insects attracted to dead things. Better go figure out what died, and clean it up so you don't have to see more maggots in the diaper....
