I was like scratching my wood duck's neck when I saw a louse crawling on her neck!!! I sprayed permethrin on her to kill it, but I have my 2 other mallards. I had to watch her until the permethrin dried. I know that isn't the best way to kill lice, but it was the only way at the time. What do I do? is there a lice shampoo for ducks or something? or a lice killer feed? thanks

They're probably from the wild rabbits that sneak in their outdoor enclosure
will that kind of lice still live on ducks?

I found a powder. does that work well? I am afraid they'll preen and swallow the powder. They go and swim in their pond too.

is that safe for ducks?
Yeah, it's safe for ducks.

Look up if the powder is digestible or if it will kill them. If you use a powder, you're going to have to rub it into her feathers really well because they have a lot of down.
