I'm new to this forum and just visited your thread.
Very glad things worked out so you can keep your ducks.
My .02
Don't offer ducklings, if your neighbors have already proven themselves as poor duck owners, you'd feel poorly in the future if/when the ducklings you offered become mistreated, malnourished, ignored or more?
Ducks have such unique personalities, show emotions, get scared and run to you for protection.
Eggs are perfect.
Protect future offspring from the same fate which brought your ducks to your care and love.
