My young call duck layed her first egg yesterday...a tiny green one. I opened it this morning, and it has no yolk. The inside was completely clear except for a teeny tiny yellow spot that looked somewhat like the fertility bullseye. Is this normal for a first egg?

Just relax, and congrats on your first egg!
Lots of times the first eggs are a little strange, either misshapped, they have no shell or in your case they have no yolk. Give her a few tries to get it right.

If after a few weeks if it still isn't better it probably is a nutritional thing. But I'd put my money on it just being a newbie thing!

WHew! Thanks! I really don't think it's nutritional since I'm feeding her what the breeder told me to. I was really hoping that it's "normal" and time will correct it. I guess just wait and see! She's building herself a nest, so hopefully her eggs will become normal before she decides to start sitting on them.

Congrats on the egg; I raised calls for two years and was never able to get any of them to even lay an egg! Hopefully she gets better with time
