Help my hens have me confused

Sorry ive been so busy with work and chicken issues i have checked the temp in there its 60 degrees i wouldnt think thats to hot? And mom was with them for a little bit now its like she is saying okay kids you are on your own. I do have a SMALL enclosed run because this was my FIRST flock the man we bought them from said only half of the chicks would probably make it so we got extra well apparently i was a good mommy because they all made it. So then wr decided to let them free range because we werent prepared for such a big flock. And we did a year of research and preparing before getting them. My husband and i are starting to wonder if its to dark inside the dog kennel around the coop with the tarps. I bought outside christmas lights lastnight on my way home from work we are going to see if tha
t helps them see where they are going. And if its a mite problem how in the world would i get rid of them? I dont think the coop would stink i clean it every two weeks with fresh bedding....am i maybe cleaning it to much?
