Help my pet hen dying! :(

The dog food shouldn't have made her sick, because it would also have made the dog sick. She needs some good protein such as egg and adding water to her chicken feed making a gruel out of it. I doubt if she got so sick from eating mold off of bread. She could have found a dead animal or compost if she free ranges. Did she have a Mareks vaccine as a chick?

Not sure how old she is Mistifier99, She was a giveaway because the people were moving away, So I took her home. They never said how old she was. Iv'e had her two years, she stopped laying eggs a couple weeks ago.

There are an awful lot of things this could be unfortunately, including a toxin as Eggcessive said. Check her body condition, how does her belly feel? Does she feel swollen in her lower abdomen at all? Do you have other chickens you can check so you know what a normal one feels like? The red backside can be a red flag for a couple of things. She could have mites or it could be that she is an internal layer and has developed peritonitis. If she feels swollen in her lower belly, like from between the legs on back to the vent, it could also be ascites, fluid buildup in the body cavities, this has several possible causes.

Has she ever been dewormed?

I made the videos public so u can view them now :), Her belly is bloated. Her feathers were starting to clump up with poo just before she got sick, so I used scissors to cut them back for her and her bum is red. I'm not sure on her history with deworming and needles as I got her for free from some people who couldn't look after her anymore. That was 2 years ago. I have one other chicken "Raven" and she is normal. Thank you for responding.
