I would NOT want to use the turpentine stuff on him. Will he eat if you hand feed him some treats, like scrambled egg, plain yogurt , warm oatmeal?

When it comes to limping there are many possible causes, but common among them are sprains, partial dislocations, and breaks. The treatment for all these is basically a few weeks rest on deep bedding in a small cage to prevent movement.
