I accidentally gave my chickens an orange a few days ago. My other chickens are fine but my white leghorn is already starting to lay thin shelled eggs! Do you guys know what I should do to stop this problem?

Welcome to BYC. The orange may have nothing to do with the thin shells, but chickens should only eat chicken feed with an occasional treat. What feed are you using? Is it a layer feed, and do you provide crushed oyster shell for calcium? I would give a calcium tablet or Tums today and for a few days, to see if the shells harden. Has any flock member had any illness with a lot of sneezing recently?

I use layer feed and mix it in with poultry feed. All my other chickens are fine it's just that whenever I give her citrus she is the only one with problems not anyone else.

I also give her mealworms every month.
