I don't feed my chickens scraps though they do have access to whatever makes its way into the compost pile - though I wouldn't put pizza there personally

No I wouldn’t feed them pizza. I’m totally on her side !Can someone please help me convince her that it's okay for the girls to have fun table scraps?
Everything in moderation right?!
EDIT: Our girls usually get much smaller quantities of veggie scraps, but this was a couple of weeks ago on New Years Day and all the girls were fine

I wouldn’t. I agree with some of the others, the scrapes I give mine are blueberries, spinach, tomatoes, kale, etc. their crops are not that big so it should be filled with good food. I also try to keep them organic. They should not have citrus or salt. I agree with your wife. PS. That was a lot of pizza. Can someone please help me convince her that it's okay for the girls to have fun table scraps?

Neither is Whataburger but I find myself eating it often!I have to agree here - they might love it, but it’s not actually good for them.
how did you ever find a polish chicken/hen?????Dude, why would you feed your poor chickens pizza, I mean yah they probably loved the way it tastes but what about how they felt? I agree with your wife![]()
I give our chickens leftovers too and they are healthy. I also give my Cockatiel and African Gray leftovers they love mashed potatoes! My chickens rarely get leftover pizza because there's rarely leftover pizza....
But they did Subway on Tuesday...
(My chickens eat and enjoy all leftovers all the time, I just have to remove the leftover from any styrofoam containers because they eat that, too. Every Sunday night the 2 refrigerators in the control room at work get emptied out and goes in a bucket for my chickens. The only things they don't eat are iceberg lettuce, raw onions, lemons & limes and some pickles.)(I am not saying it's healthy but I've never seen one with issues from it.)
Funny mine prefer iceberg. They just don't like it. They eat all the other greens: romaine, butter crunch, cabbages. After they are done what's left is Iceberg. It's a shame because one guy at work brings a head of iceberg every week but eats fast food instead of the salad so I get a mostly untouched head of lettuce every Monday. The goats eat it.
if they don't like it you're just going to have a mess to clean up because they're going to scratch it until they decide I don't see anything wrong with it they know what they likeCan someone please help me convince her that it's okay for the girls to have fun table scraps?
