My Wyandotte hen is making this strange not quite sounding like weezing, but continuous with her breathing kind of sound. Not quite a clucking sound, just sort of a continuous note. What should I do? She also seems to have some diarrhea. She seems distressed, but not really fatiqued or anything. The others kind of are avoiding her.

She sounds like this one:

I had this problem during the summer. Read it hereand here. Your girl could have a respiratory infection. Depending on her symptoms, there's a variety of things you can do. My girls all seemingly had different symptoms. One was wheezing, like yours, and had green poop. Three of them had bubbly eyes. After making a lot of decisions, I gave them LA 200, an injection. I'm not sure if you should do that yet though..

What color is her poop?
Is she eating/drinking?
Is she kind of "poofy"?

She seems to be agitated, but not lethargic or puffy. Her behind has some diarrhea poop on it, which is unusual, but it is whitish in color, not green. I have her in the coop with 10 other chicken, and six 3-week old chicks. Everyone else seems fine so far, but I'm worried. Is it ok to keep them together? Do I have to give her antibiotics or is there a chance she could get over it by herself? I added some Rx drops into the drinking water...

I would definetely seperate her. If she has an infection or disease, the others could contract it, and that would be a lot more work and pain for you. If it were me, I'd start her on an antibiotic. I used Duramycin. I don't know if you read my topics, but my last resort was the LA 200. Let me know how she's doing!

I applied some Rx to her nostrils and to the drinking water of the flock (and also some kickin' chicken liquid supplement) She seems better today, no more of that sound and she's eating and drinking ok. Phew! One of the baby chicks is looking a bit under the weather potentially -- shaking her head. Hopefully I can just nip this thing in the butt. It's so cold out, it's hard to organize anything like separating individuals, etc...
