Based on your synopsis of him watching over his girl. I would lean towards something like,
Defender, Guardian, Protector, Overlord, .... ha
I like nicknames and the only one that sounds good would be Defender & you could shorten it to Fender.

Do you have a theme or preferences? I wanted to name my girls Native American names at first. Hubby wasn't crazy about that. Then I went with Biblical names. 6 of my girls have biblical names.

What are your interests other than chickens? Are you into cars?
I think Chevelle is a cute name for a girl. You get my meaning.

I have no preferences. Except that I just don’t love basic names.
Like “Snow” for a white chicken.
