Help, need answer quick, a baby depends on this...PICS ADDED

Okay, I compromised a little. I ripped off a tiny corner of the paper towel, wet it and laid it on the egg and the side of it, just the top half of the egg, not where the baby will be pipping....

that way it shouldn't raise the humidity too high in the bator, yet, it might help to keep some humidity on the duck egg for non shrinkwrapping purpose, maybe, I don't know. I think I should go to bed, I'm driving myself nuts.

It is peeping up a storm now. I am glad about that.

Yes, it certainly can.

Realistically, a bit of wet paper towel in the incubator for 24 hours is not going to make any difference at all to your other eggs.

Just leave the egg and the paper towel in there, keep the lid on and try to relax (easy for me to say I know!!!!).

The duckling sounds strong. That's good!

hahahah, thankyou. I'm glad I had some of you around to get me through this moment, hahaha.
I'm going to bed, I will chirp at the egg one more time, to make sure its still thinking about it. hahah, fingers crossed I wake up to a zipper,

Don't worry yet. The first thing the duckling has done is break into the air sac inside the egg. After that it can take many hours for the next move, breaking a hole in the shell. Can you still hear noises coming from the egg?

Couldnt hear this morning, at work now until 5.

I just hope the humidity doesnt drop and shrinkwrap it

there is no progression at all.

is it possible, that the baby is shrinkwrapped within the shell and can't kick the egg off ?? as the one baby that died, I checked it over, it had its head exposed but not enough to become 'unfolded' so to speak. like the white membrane was to tough for it to break through
This is day 34 now.

When does one intervene? Knowing the baby is alive, but maybe stuck within, it is hard to not help

where's my backup, hahahaha,

70% cocoa, where r u ?? LOL. I need your advice, sitting here on my hands wanting to help that baby out.

can anyone give me advice, I don't want this baby to die a slow death within its shell
