Help, need answer quick, a baby depends on this...PICS ADDED

Haha, my daughter is in bed now, I told her it would be a few hours before it hatched.
She hatched a chick on her lap last spring from pip to finish, so, she felt the duckling might have been as fast.
Actually she hatched two on her lap.
We then dried them a bit with the towel and then under the heat lamp.
I find duck eggs tougher, shell and membrane.
Baby is still doing well. so far so good.

Well, so far so good! I totally agree to let it rest in the incubator. It needs to recover. Not wanting to be pessimistic but the little one still has a few hurdles to jump since it's not a strong one. But here's hoping that s/he will live long and prosper! Glad that it is looking good so far.

baby is resting in incubator, I have to be at work at 5am, ugh,
it's got its head out and has lifted it a few times. it's quite tired.
bottom half still in shell.
I'm off to bed, hopefully will awake to a baby all the way out.
it's had a few sleeps, done some peeping, fingers crossed.

Emjay:... YOU ARE DOING A FANTISTIC JOB!!!

Awesome news this morning!!
Checked baby on my way to work, it has completed its hatching, and has moved away from the shell turned around, and is holding his head up. now he just has to dry off. now to hope it will be okay in iits cramped quarters, its snug up with the egg turner.its a full house in there.
