Help!!! Need Chicken Advice

The dander from a new feather shaft can even look like flakes of dandruff. Think of the feather coming in a little plastic straw. As the hen preens herself she picks and ruffles the plastic straw covering the feathers it chips away until the new feather fully emerges.
New feathers can look like a sticker/thorn with bristly little ends. Like a tiny paint brush.
Oh Lordy I hope I didn’t confuse you more.
What ever the case please don’t pull them out.
Some primary feathers can really bleed if you pull/break them. Best wishes

Yes hang in there! We all go through it with our chickens. Don't worry about covering her up, she'll be fine. it's always shocking how they lose all those feathers in cold weather. By the way, where are you located?
Here in northern Illinois I feel like putting sweaters on my molting chickens. But they seem to do just fine. :frow
