I've been incubating duck eggs and theyre going into lockdown on sunday. I work at a barn and the hen died. Her eggs are pipping so I grabbed them and put them in my incubator with my duck eggs to try to save them. I can hear the chicks chirping and the chicks have pipped. What I'm worried about is what effect is this going to have on my ducks. Will I have a problem with cleanup? What do I do? I need to know how to prevent my ducks from being affected by the chick hatch. I'm hoping they'll hatch and be out before I have to do lockdown on sunday for my ducks. I'm trying to do a good deed by saving these baby chicks but i'm very worried about my ducklings. PLEASE HELP ASAP!

I don't know about ducks all i can think is if lockdown is not until sunday then hopefully the baby chicks are out before lockdown and you can get them out of the incubator before lockdown

I tried seperating the chicken eggs and put them on one side. Can I put anything under them so when they hatch it wont mess the incubator?

I just thought of something. Can I put the three chicken eggs in a tupperware in the incubator? That will keep the chicks away from the duck eggs.

One of the chicks hatched last night. He seems to be doing great. The other two aren't moving, and We don't hear anything. He hatched around 3:00 AM and my daughter and I video taped it from our camera.

How long till I can move him to the brooder? We are under time restrictions cause "lockdown" is tomorrow night for our ducks. We won't totally give up hope on the other two eggs just yet. We are still hopeing for the best. At least we were able to save one of these precious babies
