Need to re-home a beautiful Dominique girl, two-year-old Mildred, who is fighting with her sister. She's a reliable egg-a-day layer, jumbo size, brown shell. I've had to separate them, and one has been living in our mud room, which may very soon, perhaps this weekend, lead to a divorce. Tried putting them back together in the coop several times, same thing. I'll drive Mildred anywhere in New England for a good home. She is a georgeous example of a Colonial-era breed that once was one of the most common in America, went West with the settlers, yet almost became extinct in recent decades. I am so stressed out about this. Caught between two chickens and a marriage.

I'm sorry you have to find a home for her! I am certain someone on here will be happy to take Mildred and give her an excellent home, though.

If only you were in California I'd take her in a second!

Instead of hitting reply...i sent e-mail with a wee question regarding dearest Mildred.....I am not sure if it got to you? I don't sign into the forum too much but had just signed on to check a medical condition on one of my others when I saw your dilemma...:
