I have birds ranging from 1 lb to 35, any ideas about dosages? Also, which should I use, I bought both because I couldn't decide.

I use1-2 drops for the smallest standard size chicken.
3-4 for med size and 5 on my turkey hens.
smaller than that I use 7 dust.

and which product do you use? The Durvet Ivermectin or the Ivomec Eprinex? Thanks. You mean I should dust my little 2 lb bantam hen? She IS tiny!

ivermectin pour on for cattle 5%

I would use a drop on your banty twice a year because it kills worms too & 7 doesnt

See the last post in this thread:

I use a 1 ml syringe as I need 0.5 ml for my birds. 0.25 is usually given as the bantam dose on here -- but smaller birds should get even less, I would think.

Of course this is all chicken talk, not turkey talk -- never had a turkey, have no idea whether there would be a difference.

Cattle Pour-on: 5mg per mL (1CC - 1mL). 1 mL (5mg/1CC per 22lb - cattle/humans - off label for chooks but close enough). 11lb turk ~.5CC ~ 2.5mg). Repeat dosing ten days after initial treatment.

Wear gloves when using (unless you need to be wormed - primarily used in humans to treat the squirmers responsible for 'River Blindness').

More about Ivermectin than is probably necessary: http://www.inchem.org/documents/pims/pharm/ivermect.htm

I'm curious - I have the privermectin sheep drench (not Pour-on) - Could I apply this topically to control mites or would an oral dose also target mites?

GEEEZ! Thank you so much Ivan3. That information was right on the box, it just took a less hysterical person than me to translate. So, working on the 22lb per mL, 1/10 mL is good for 2 lbs. I'm sure the fat to innards ratio of cows is different from turkeys, which is why there is so much debate on this website (and others) about how much product to use. Thanks again for your help.
