Good morning. I’ve done some searching and I can’t quite find the answer I’m looking for.
I have a pretty large mite infestation. It took off rapidly and permethrin didn’t touch it. Permethrin powder and 10% permethrin liquid. I’ve purchased Elector and Ivermectin 1% to end this asap. The mites are EVERYWHERE and falling from the rafters.
The issue is flock size and free ranging. I unplugged the auto doors last night and I’m about to get up to dunk all of the birds in both coops with Elector. About 40 or 50 birds total. Coops will receive a massive cleaning and Elector. That part will be time consuming but doable.
The issue is some birds roost in the trees and are hard to catch. I’d say 5 total? The thought is, ivermectin is going to help with those birds that I can’t dunk. Next issue, I have 4 emus that live in the same area with the chickens. There is no way for me to catch these birds and dunk them in elector lol not happening. I am one person doing this with zero help.
What I’m looking for is dosage per gallon of water of Ivermectin 1% for an average large chicken. I figure getting some into the emus will help and I’ll use the sprayer to get elector on the emus in passing today. It will be tough, as they’re starting to pair up for breeding and are a little flighty atm.
Any assistance with the Ivermectin 1% dosage per gallon of water for an average sized chicken is much appreciated.
