Help! Need pictures of cute coops to share with city council.

I am so glad I live on land that is zoned Agricultural! I would not be able to stand the thought of "owning" land that I can't use as I please. Why would a person want to pay taxes on something that they can't use in any kind of productive way? I considered moving to the Denver area at one time. That ended real quick when I saw "association fees" attached to every house I looked at. I'm not paying an "association" to tell me how many cars I can have in my driveway, that I have to keep my garage door shut, what color my siding and roofing has to be and who knows what else! That is pure insanity! We have enough laws to follow, why would we make more rules for ourselves?

Hey lovely BYC folks, I've been mostly silent; reading and enjoying all of the wisdom and humor I've found on here. Thanks so much!!My question is, we bought a coop, homemade and cheap. It has been mostly great, the girls love it (all 3 of them), and being in an urban setting we are very secure against the many raccoons. The girls are free range for most all of the day. The issue is we are leaving for 10 weeks and they will be with "sitters" which means more time in their coop/run(all completely predator proof, that is not the issue). The run is 12' and only 1' tall. Is this enough for 3 grown gals (plus their covered coop/nesting area (about 3' per bird indoors, but since we are in California they are only up there for roosting). I am so used to having them loose in the yard, I would hate to spoil their good health and friendly disposition! Also, these ladies are only 5-6 months and haven't started laying so my sweet boyfriend REALLY doesn't think we need an addition. Any thoughts would be much appreciated!!!

feel free to use any pics on my page

I think thats the perfect coop to show the council, the two kids sitting outside holding the chooks as pets, outside a lovely fun, colourful coop/run!

Very nicely done!

Darn, I wish my new coop was ready. It's gonna be sweet. This will have to do for now! Good luck, let us know how it turns out!

(It's not that pretty, but it just goes to show that homes with chickens can still be nice, well kept homes, and the chickens can be contained and don't have to be wandering to other peoples yards....)
