I have two budgies,1 male and 1 female. The male has a slightly deformed leg so the pair are bonded but will not mate.Im wondering if I got another male to breed with the female would the two males fight even though one wouldn't be mating and would he help to raise the chicks.
    Thanks

The reason you are not getting any results is because parakeets are much different than chickens. Parakeets only breed when there are multiple pairs, best minimum results happen around 4 or more. You only want one pair to a cage because you might have disputes. Budgies lay six eggs at a time and they hatch right after each other for six days.
